Session
Description:
As corporate treasurers
increasingly look to their banks as value-added service
providers, many banks seek to become trusted advisors to
their clients rather than just transaction processors,
seeking to implement products that encourage deeper
relationships. Treasury workstations are one unique product
that presents the opportunity to satisfy both parties.
Treasury workstations have become commonplace in the
corporate treasury world. They have been explored and
offered by some of the largest banks over the last two
decades. Despite this, vendor-offered workstations continue
to dominate the market. Due to recent gains in technology
and the evolving relationships between the corporate
community and their banks, bank-offered treasury
workstations are once again experiencing interest by
corporations, their banks and the vendor community.
This presentation examines some of the challenges bank
treasury products and services groups face, and the
opportunities treasury workstations provide to help overcome
them. The presentation will include at least one case study,
discussing the challenges financial institutions have
wrestled with when attempting to offer a treasury
workstation like offering. It also describes key success
factors that must be addressed prior to launching a treasury
workstation product.
The presentation concludes with a discussion of how banks
can determine whether a treasury workstation or, treasury
workstation capabilities, are a good fit for them. With the
information from this report, banks will be able to begin
the process of evaluating whether or not they should offer a
treasury workstation product to their customers.
This session
is appropriate for senior financial services executives with
responsibility for Corporate Treasury, Corporate Marketing, Business Development, Market
Research and Strategy groups.
